Gord Downie brought his Secret Path show to a sold out crowd at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Tuesday night.

The show, which chronicles the life of Chanie Wenjack, sold out 20 minutes after tickets went on sale two weeks ago.

The Secret Path website describes Downie's 10-song album as themed around a “dark part of Canada’s history-the long-supressed mistreatment of Indigenous children and families by the residential school system.”

All proceeds from the Secret Path concert will go to reconciliation.

In December 2015, Gord Downie, The Tragically Hip’s lead singer, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

In May of this year, the band announced its farewell tour with the final concert in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario. That Aug. 20 concert, broadcast nationally on CBC, was watched by millions of Canadians.
