Fougere launches platform

Regina city councillor Michael Fougere announced his election platform Thursday to a pack-to-the-gills crowd at his new election headquarters.

“I’ll measure and balance the needs of every citizen in every neighbourhood,” Fougere said in a prepared speech.

Fougere announced that, as mayor, he would host an intergovernmental housing summit to “identify solutions to the housing crisis in Regina.”

“The whole idea of coming together as a community to talk about how we can deal with a major issue is significant,” he said. “We have not done that before.”

Fougere also pointed to sustainable growth, value for tax dollars and ensuring credible leadership as other key priorities in his campaign.
