Toronto Police are warning the public after a man allegedly threatened at least one boy with a knife at the Eaton Centre.
Police say they responded to a call at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday reporting that an 11-year-old boy was threatened by a man who indicated he had a large knife.
The boy was then physically led through the mall by the suspect before he was able to escape after handing over some cash.
Police say they learned of a similar unreported incident that occurred Nov. 19 in which a man matching the suspect's description allegedly threatened two 14-year-old boys. The pair were able to escape after also being led through the mall, however the suspect wasn't able to obtain anything from the boys.
The suspect is described as a black man thought to be about 19 years old with hair styled in short twists. He is 5'9" to six-feet tall and weighs about 160 lbs.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS or online at www.222tips.com.
