Police investigating woman's suspicious death at Beach home

Toronto police have launched a suspicious death investigation after a body was found in a Beach home Friday night.

Toronto paramedics were called to a house on 65 Elmer Ave., near Queen St. E. and Woodbine Ave., at 10:37 p.m. Friday. One person was found “obviously dead” inside, paramedics said.

Police cordoned off the house shortly after for a “sudden death” investigation.

A sergeant on scene told media that the emergency call came in as a medical complaint. On the scene, they found a deceased female in her 50s.

The sergeant said the death is considered suspicious because of what was found and because of the woman’s age.

Foul play has not been ruled out and police will be holding the scene until a post-mortem is concluded.
