DVP ramp reopened after deadly two-car collision on Highway 401

Toronto Paramedic Services said they were called to the scene at around 5:33 a.m; the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Update: OPP say the 401 eastbound collector lanes to Highway 404 have been reopened. 

One person is dead after a two-car crash at the Don Valley Parkway’s on-ramp to Hwy. 401 eastbound early on Wednesday morning.

Toronto Paramedic Services said they were called to the scene at around 5:33 a.m. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person was taken to a trauma centre, although paramedics didn’t have details on that patient’s condition.

The circumstances behind the crash also remain unclear.

All lanes of Hwy. 401 eastbound collector lanes to Hwy. 404, and the northbound DVP on-ramp to Hwy. 401, have been closed by police.

The OPP said on Twitter that traffic is being diverted into the express lanes.
