Man sent to hospital after assault in Whalley: Surrey RCMP

A man was sent to hospital following an assault and possible forcible confinement in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood on Thursday.

Surrey RCMP say they received a report around 8:30 p.m. of an assault and possible forcible confinement in the 10100-block of Whalley Boulevard.

Officers found an injured man at the scene and took him to hospital.

An early investigation suggests that the man was assaulted in a home in the area and may have been held against his will for a period of time, according to police.

Police said the incident appears to have been targeted.

One person has been taken into custody while officers continue to gather evidence and speak to possible witnesses, police said.

The victim has since been released from hospital with minor injuries, police said.
