The Lytics/WSO Canada Day combo isn’t the only cool July 1 event happening in Winnipeg.
Osborne Village Canada Day Street Celebration: Winnipeg’s largest street festival – June 30 and July 1 – features multiple live music stages, food vendors, artisan booths, kids’ activities and of course the many great restaurants, cafes and bars located in the Village. Visit www.osbornevillage.com
Canad Day Picnic in the Park: Canad Inns presents a full day of entertainment at Assiniboine Park, including children’s entertainment, music on The Lyric Stage (including Canadian pop sensation Shawn Desman) and of course, fireworks. Visit www.assiniboinepark.ca.
Canada Day at The Forks: Manitoba musicians, including rock ’n’ soul band The Noble Thiefs, folk act Red Moon Road and pop singer-songwriter Jodi King, will take to three separate stages at Winnipeg’s historic meeting place. www.theforks.com.
There will be a free Canada Day Shuttle linking Downtown, The Forks and Osborne Village. The shuttle will operate from noon to midnight.
Green Party of Canada leader Elizabeth May predicts her party has a shot at winning 12 to 15 seats. But strategic voting could hurt the party.
