A Sony Pictures movie to be shot in Winnipeg this summer is looking for one of its lead roles.
"Heaven is For Real," based on the best-selling book of the same name, is looking for a boy to play the role of Colton, a youngster who has a near-death experience.
"Although terrified when he's taken in for surgery, he emerges as a calm, comfortable, self-assured little boy who casually offers up his observations of Heaven," says the press release for the casting call.
Oscar-nominated actor Greg Kinnear has reportedly been tapped for the role of Colton's father, but that has not been officially announced.
Producers are looking for a white male, 5-8 years old. No acting experience is required and the open casting call will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 1-5 p.m. at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. For more information, contact Jim Heber Casting at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Milan Lukes, 13, is slated to speak at a giant pumpkin growing seminar in St. Norbert just before next year’s growing season kicks off.
