Winnipeg’s acclaimed pop-up river restaurant, RAW: almond will be designed by a group of local architects.

RAW:almond is heading to north.

Good news for those who missed out on the chance to buy tickets for Winnipeg’s annual outdoor pop-up restaurant, typically set up on the Red River, but due to uncooperative temperatures earlier this season, stayed on land.

The restaurant, along with Parks Canada and tourism company Frontiers North Adventures, partnered to create RAW: churchill, which runs in—you guessed it, Churchill, Manitoba— from March 10 to 12.

“We’re so excited to bring the award-winning RAW:almond experience from a frozen Winnipeg river to the frozen shores of the Hudson Bay,” restaurant co-founder Joe Kalturnyk said in a news release issued Thursday.

Guests will arrive to the site by travelling in a Tundra Buggy – think monster truck on snow – to travel across the ice-packed Churchill River to the Prince of Wales Fort National Historic grounds.

They will then dine inside the fort’s historic walls, and have a post-dinner rendez-vous to watch the northern lights as a finale to their night, the release says.
