Winnipeg police arrest nine in bust of property theft ring

Investigators say they have recovered more than $300,000 worth of items including vehicles, police equipment, blank passports and blank birth certificates.

Winnipeg police say they have arrested nine people and are looking for 11 others after busting a property theft ring that was active in the city and rural Manitoba.

Police say the suspects face more than 140 charges.

Investigators say they have recovered more than $300,000 worth of items including vehicles, police equipment, blank passports and blank birth certificates.

Police say some of the suspects were also operating in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
