Police: Naked Donald Trump statue stolen in Miami

MIAMI — Police in South Florida say they have a "person of interest" in the theft of a naked Donald Trump statue.

Miami police said on the department's official Twitter account that the statue of the Republican presidential nominee was taken from the Wynwood arts district on Thursday.

WSVN-TV (http://bit.ly/2dfFX0Y ) reports security guards in Wynwood told police they saw a group of men loading the statue into a pickup truck. A witness told investigators he took a picture of the truck as it left the neighbourhood . Police ran the license plate and are now looking for the registered owner of the truck as a "person of interest."

A similar statue disappeared this week in New Jersey. And in Las Vegas, a naked Trump statue was knocked down and sprayed with graffiti overnight and removed Friday from a corner in a parking lot near a downtown music festival site.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2dgwWEF) that all that remained was a pedestal with two pink feet attached.

The statues are produced by Las Vegas artist Joshua Monroe. They first appeared in August in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
