Bosnian police arrest 11 suspected weapons smugglers

SARAJEVO, Bosnia — Bosnian authorities say they arrested 11 people in northern Bosnia who are suspected of smuggling weapons to criminals in Austria.

A statement from the state prosecution office said Tuesday the operation was conducted in co-operation with Austrian authorities. Those arrested are also suspected of drug smuggling.

Police say they also raided several locations in the northern towns of Bijeljina, Orasje Doboj and Modrica. The weapons allegedly collected for smuggling were used during the 1992-95 war.
