O’Brien ‘not finished yet’

Four years ago, the city elected “a political novice, with 26 years of business experience to change the city,” said Mayor Larry O’Brien.

Last night, O’Brien pledged to ensure first responders have the resources they need, that there would be no moratorium on roads and to champion the formation of a transit commission free from political interference if he is re-elected.

“We’re pretty proud of what we’ve done so far,” said O’Brien at his campaign launch.

In the last four years, council has pushed the reset button on light rail, worked to protect the Ottawa River from pollution, got a funded plan to revitalize Lansdowne Park and started work on a new Ottawa Conference Centre, among other things.

“We’ve moved more projects ahead than any council since well before amalgamation,” he said.
