Eva Mendes is in “no rush” to have children, femalefirst.co.uk reports.
Despite being happy in her private life, the actress — who is in a long-term relationship with producer George Gargurevich — does not feel ready to start a family.
“It’s great that women can work and have kids but I’m in no rush,” she said. “I was joking the other day that everywhere you look there is a celebrity having a baby, and I said I hoped I didn’t catch it. There are just so many things I want to do.”
Mendes has also explained her decision to enter a rehab facility earlier this year to be treated for “personal issues.”
“Basically, I can’t deal with everything life throws at me on my own — I need tools and people around me to help,” she says. “I don’t want to sound like a victim because, come on, I’m one of the luckiest women in the world. But I have trouble dealing with the fame side of things, so now I see my therapist every week. For me, it’s a healthy thing to do.”
