Canada in Group A for CONCACAF men's under-20 championship

Canada will play in Group A with Honduras, Mexico, and Antigua and Barbuda for the 2017 CONCACAF men's under-20 championship.

The draw for the tournament, which will be held from Feb. 17 to Mar. 5 was held Tuesday in Costa Rica.

Canada will open against Honduras at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in San Jose, Costa Rica.

"At this level, you know that every group will be competitive and decided by key moments and goals," said Canada's U-20 team coach Rob Gale. "It will be vital that we get our moments right and that we get the best performances on the day."

Four of 12 teams will qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The 12 teams are divided into three groups of four, with two countries from each group advancing to the classification phase.

"Right now, we are not looking further than Honduras," said Gale. "We know they will be a tough opponent, strong and direct in their play. We will have to match their play and be creative at the other end."
