Bills receiver Watkins held out of practice due to sore foot

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills receiver Sammy Watkins was a late scratch from practice after complaining about soreness in his surgically repaired left foot.

Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold made the announcement following practice Wednesday, saying Watkins was held out when he expressed a concern to the team's training staff. Coach Rex Ryan opened the day saying he was expecting Watkins to work on a limited basis.

The severity of the injury is unclear and it's not known whether it will affect his status for Sunday, when Buffalo (6-5) plays at Oakland (9-2). Watkins declined to speak to reporters during a brief appearance in the locker room.

Watkins had three catches for 80 yards in a 28-21 win over Jacksonville on Sunday in his first game since missing nine weeks because of the injury.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor practiced fully but was also added to the injury report because of a sore groin.
