DAVIE, Fla. — Miami Dolphins reserve defensive tackle Leon Orr was cut during practice Wednesday when the team learned of his arrest on marijuana charges near Naples, Florida.

Dolphins players had Tuesday off. Coach Adam Gase said the team learned about the arrest during practice Wednesday, and Orr was waived before the workout ended.
"We're in the middle of the season," Gase said. "We have priorities, and this is the No. 1 priority. If guys have other priorities, then they can go about their business somewhere else."
The Dolphins (7-4) have won six games in a row to join the playoff race.
"The one thing that we do talk about quite a bit is being invested to each other," said Gase, who is in his first year as coach. "There are a lot of people putting in a lot of work — players, coaches, staff members — to where everybody's counting on everybody else to do the right thing. That's really the only way that you have a chance to be successful. If we have people pulling in different directions and this isn't their top priority, we'd rather not be around those type of people."
Orr, 24, is from New Port Richey, Florida. He played at the University of Florida and is in his second NFL season, playing in five games as a reserve.
Deputies stopped Orr on eastbound Interstate 75 when his BMW appeared to have illegally tinted windows, a Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report said. Deputies said they could smell marijuana, and a search turned up marijuana wax and a substance labeled Kush Syrup.
Jail records didn't list an attorney for Orr.
