Quickies - May 28

Solomag.ca launched this week, giving Canadian single women a great new online resource that proves that being single isn't just about trying to find Mr. Right. Single women it seems, gasp, have full lives and solomag.ca offers scads of career, real estate, travel and financial advice. And maybe a little bit of information about finding Mr. Right…or Mr. Right Now. If you're looking to do something with that ugly bridesmaid dress that you were assured you'd be able "to wear again, for sure"Solomag.ca wants to see it. Send a picture of it to editor@solomag.ca for a chance to work with fashion designers to turn your "dress disaster into a diva dress that you really can wear again.”

Because it's not always easy to stick your hand up in class and ask about premature ejaculation, Canadian young people got a great new online sex education resource this week thanks to an in initiative from the wonderful folks at Montreal's Head and Hands, a Montreal-based community organization that offers medical, legal, and social services to youth aged 12-25. Senseproject.org is a peer-based sex education program that was created to "help young people to make 'sense' of their sexuality, and because we want their sexual (among other) choices to make 'sense!'"Makes sense to me!

Sophie Luxton, who has been teaching Toronto women how to get their pole dancer on for several years now is staging "Fever - a moonlight burlesque"a dance show" featuring the "Feverettes", choreography by Luxton and four jazz musicians on stage. Luxton says the show is inspired by "old Hollywood glamour and steamy speakeasies.”

The show takes place at Second City Theatre from June 4-12. You can buy tickets ($25) online at secondcity.com, by phone at 416-343-0011 or in person at the Second City Theatre box office at 51 Mercer St.

For a quick chuckle, check out Mailorderhusbands.net, and take their compatibility test. With questions like: "I assume my perfect mate will have: a) an outgoing and ambitious personality or b) I hope for some hair, and a job would be nice"I'm as?!
