Burberry checks, Gaga and LiLo-gate

A few notes about some of the week's happenings so far:

1) You may recall my mentioning back in September that Scott "The Sartorialist" Schuman shot a campaign for Burberry. Well the campaign is actually a massive global project, called The Art of the Trench, featuring his images of everyday peeps (including my friend, the lovely Hitha Prabhakar) in the iconic Burberry trench from various cities. You can see them all here and even vote for your favourite looks.

2) Could Lady Gaga look any more fire in this straight-off-the-runway Alexander McQueen ensemble, complete with 10" armadillo shoes, from his spring 2010 show? Several friends of mine complained that the collection veered too far into costume territory, but when you see the
work within the context of this video, it makes perfect sense.

3) Emanuel Ungaro is furious about Lohan-gate. Are we surprised? His words: "Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster. I am furious, but I can't do anything about it. ...That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls." Man.

Agreed with uncouth! With all the faux fur options out there, there is no reason to wear the real thing!
