Amado Guevara Gone

The Honduran guy at my work laughed at me.

"Ya the Amado deal was done two days ago"

"What? No it hasn't. Nobody has said anything here," I said.

 "Look it up. He's gone"

And there went my soccer credibility with the Hondurans.

Here is the story

Below is what it says in Google Translate.

When I called Toronto FC I was initially rebuffed and told it was a rumour.

I was quickly called back and told that it was true and they would be issuing a statement shortly.

I then got an email from another person on the TFC staff stating: "Amado is NOT on loan currently"

Followed by another phone call stating that Toronto had not signed any loan agreement with a Honduran club but that his contract was up in December and they had not exercised the option to extend.

I don't want to make them seem like they had their pants down on this, as not everyone is always in the loop and news tends to break pretty fast these days, but this story has been out for a couple days now and this is seemingly the first anyone here (club, media, or otherwise) had heard of it.

Amado's contract expires at the end of December. Toronto retains his right within MLS. But as the option on his contract was not exercised by the club, he is free to sign anywhere outside of the MLS.

According to the newspaper reports there, the deal in Honduras will be for two years and he will not be playing in Toronto at all next season. Normally an FA would wait until his current contract was up to introduce him but Amado is a legend down there. So it fits.

There had been plenty of speculation as to where Amado would play this season.

Knee surgery, a large salary, the arrival of Preki, a mysterious Facebook post from his wife and the arrival of Julian DeGuzman had all cast doubt on his future here.

Amado's time here was mixed. He showed flashes of brilliance - free kicks that would take your breath away - but also a tendency to take games off.

Overall, I liked him. Classy guy until the end and a good footballer when he wanted to be. But his time here was certainly passed.

Cheers

The captain, Amado Guevara, signed today with Motagua at about 2 pm at the headquarters of the Blue Team.

Amado, accompanied by Pedro Atala, team president Javier Atala, chief financial officer and part of the leadership motaguensis, appeared before the press in the capital to make official the return of the Wolf.

They were long hours of negotiation between the board and the player as part of that, the long wait for approval by the MLS (master of the details driving) which caused the filing of Amado was not done before

Pedro Atala said, "They all were anxious that we made the official presentation of Beloved but had to settle impasses few, and done that, we put time and date for the submission" he said.

While Amado added, "I'm excited, it's what I expected. I come to retire in Motagua, that was my big dream."

Wolf's contract is for two years. Amado Motagua returns after nearly two years playing at the Toronto FC, his last team in MLS.

Re: Help start a movement and support our squad

Montagliani is either lying or completely inept. This is not the first anyone's heard, and definitely will not be the last. This runs much deeper than one current and one former CSL team.
