Add the iPhone to the list of things that consumers are thinking twice about.

Rogers Communications yesterday reported figures for the fourth quarter that boasted an increase in net wireless subscribers to 199,000 from 183,000 a year earlier. But, as one analyst pointed out, Rogers’ sales of about 130,000 high-end iPhones over the three-month period was a nearly 50 per cent drop in sales from the previous quarter, where 255,000 iPhones were sold.

Investors responded by pushing Rogers stock down nearly six per cent, or $2.19 cents, to $35 yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
