Doing load after load of laundry can eat up an entire afternoon. Having a properly planned system can really help make this tedious household task go much faster.
“Simple changes can put minutes back into every day,” says Clare Kumar, a professional organizer and consultant, and owner of Streamlife, an organizing company. “Place your often-used items close and buy products in sizes that are comfortable to use.”
As laundry machines are often in a basement, Kumar suggests installing some bright lighting for spotting and treating stains, and painting the room a soothing light colour.
“It’s worth making the laundry room a pleasant place to be,” says Kumar. “It is a room generally only seen by family so don’t be afraid to have some fun.”
