Week 3 of the Personal Gourmet has really been a success. The obvious benefits aside – fresh and tasty meals already cooked and delivered daily, fitting back into my skinny jeans and saving time on meal planning/preparation – I’m also learning a lot about portion sizes.
I went away with the girls this weekend, and besides being able to fit into the jeans from the bottom of my drawer, I found I was able to easily manage my diet on the road. 3 weeks of eating 5 times a day, with carefully controlled meals has taught me that an apple and a few nuts mid morning will easily fill me up until lunch. While we were traveling this was easy enough to accomplish, although I did miss having my daily drop off of meals it was nice to know you can eat healthy on this diet plan and still live a regular life.
The other great thing about the Personal Gourmet is that the meals really are things I would cook and crave – this week I had pasta and chicken, beef chili, chicken fajitas and pizza. I also got to eat things I would never take the time to cook, French crepes with strawberries, curried mango chicken, chickpea salad with chicken and spinach and feta quiche. All of which were absolutely delicious.
It’s amazing how many people stop and ask about the cooler bag (it’s way easier to carry breakfast, snacks and lunch in the cooler bag they drop off in the morning). When I tell them about the service the answer is always “oh I’ve always wanted to try that”. My answer is that it really is worth it. Whether your motivation is to lose weight, save time or make life simpler the Rose Riseman Personal Gourmet service does all of these things for you.
And now for the good news…not only do the jeans I shoved to the back of the drawer finally do up again (please ignore the wee muffin top), but the scale and I are becoming friendly again. It says 8 pounds less then when I started 3 weeks ago. 1 week left in this experiment, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
