It looked like the climactic scene of a Michael Moore film.
There was the crowd of angry temp workers and activists, chanting outside the entrance, after security guards had barred them from the temp agency’s lobby.
There was "Santa Claus," who had been granted special dispensation to enter the building by management to deliver a letter decrying the agency’s alleged policy of requiring workers to work 850 hours before they are eligible for statutory holiday pay.
This theatrical melee had arrived at the Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road area office of the Apple One Employment Agency on a decked-out yellow school bus as part of a "bad boss" tour organized by the Workers’ Action Centre.
The worker-based organization, pushing for changes to labour laws, organized the tour to highlight the fact temporary workers are often deprived of holiday pay.
