The number of people being vaccinated for the swine flu has swelled at the public health clinic at Metro Hall in Toronto since the government announced it was opening H1N1 shots to the general public.
On Thursday, the clinic opened earlier than the scheduled 1 p.m. start time as clinic staff got a jump on the line.
In the early afternoon, clinic officials estimated approximately 150 people were waiting for the vaccination.
People were being told they would have to wait an hour and a half but many said they only had to wait for half an hour.
Elsewhere in Ontario, Hamilton’s public health unit is warning people to be prepared for longer lineups, the health unit in Sudbury is enforcing an appointment system and in London, health officials are using Twitter to get out information about how to get the shot.
