Guy Ritchie’s father is “pleased” his son’s marriage to Madonna is over, because the moviemaker is much happier without the pop superstar, imdb.com reports.
The former couple is in the middle of divorce proceedings, after announcing plans to separate last month.
“He has been in a very good mood,” Ritchie’s father, John, says of his son. “I wasn’t upset that they parted. I am very pleased for Guy that it is all over.”
John Ritchie is reportedly convinced Guy will not let Madonna take their children back to her native America from England.
Madonna and Ritchie are set to fight for custody of their son Rocco, 8, David, 3, and Madonna’s 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
