Rumble In The Jungle
When: Jan. 30, 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Bloedel Conservatory
The Friends of Bloedel are hosting a gala dinner under the iconic triodetic dome. The evening includes a Tahitian fire dancer and the music of Dal Richards. Tickets are $125 will raise funds to save the 40-year-old dome.

Laugh it Out
When: Saturday, 8 p.m.
Where: The Orpheum
Shaun Majumder, Seán Cullen and Nikki Payne perform standup comedy highlighted by ‘musical naughtiness,’ hosted by the Barenaked Ladies’ Tyler Stewart and Ed Robertson. Tix: start at $25. They are available at www.vancouver2010.com.

Beyond Eden

Kronos Quartet

Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe
When: Ends Feb. 6
Where: Granville Island Stage
This musical fable for adults takes theatergoers into a fantastical rendering of the Gothic dreamscape of Poe’s life, revealing the psychology of the man whose haunting, darkly comic writings resonate in each of our tell-tale hearts.
