Delays that have led to more than 200 homes sitting empty at the Little Mountain housing project prompted the provincial NDP to call on Victoria to take action.
NDP homeless critic Jenny Kwan said the homes are needed to alleviate the homeless crisis in Vancouver.
“The families have been evicted, the homes are sitting empty, and this delayed redevelopment isn’t going to begin until 2011, if it starts at all,” Kwan said.
She added that there are questions about whether the development will be completed in light of the global economic crisis.
