A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly using Craigslist to lure a girl for sex.

Const. Lindsey Houghton said the man placed an ad on the popular Internet classified site saying he was looking for an inexperienced girl to have sex with.

Members of the Vancouver police vice squad answered the ad posing as a 14-year-old girl. The contact led to online chats and a proposed meet on Nov. 26 at the Trout Lake Community Centre in East Vancouver.

“He arrived believing he was meeting a 14-year-old girl for sex, when, in fact, the girl he was meeting was a vice detective,” Houghton said.

Preston Andrew Clarke, 27, of Vancouver has been charged with one count of luring a child.
He was released from custody on bail conditions, including not having contact with children under 18.

Clarke is set to appear in provincial court on Dec. 7.

Houghton said the department laid a total of four counts of child luring in 2009.
