As far as singing competition winners go, Leona Lewis’ popularity is on par with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. The X Factor champ’s debut disc was a massive hit and her second record will sell a lot too. But while she has a stellar voice, her music is boring. She doesn’t have Clarkson’s rock edge, or Underwood’s country charm — she’s an R&B pop singer just like Maria Carey. Epic choruses and overwrought versus litter the record — a little more of her own personality would do this record good.
