The Whigs
Album: In The Dark
Label: ATO/MapleMusic
Rating: **1/2

Here’s a piece of advice for all the bands out there — don’t go on tour with Kings of Leon. Until the Athens-based trio The Whigs hit the road with the Followill clan, the group expertly delivered Replacements-meets-Pixies sounds. The band has gotten brasher, more streamlined and, well, more Kings. It’s becoming harder to differentiate the group from all the other rock bands out there, though it’s not all a lost cause — Kill Me Carolyn is a frenetic, engaging riff rocker that’ll remind you why you got into the band in the first place.
