All good lunch columns go to foodie heaven, even this one

It is true what they say: All good things must come to an end. Contrary to what you may be thinking, I am not referring to Dawson’s Creek.
I am sad to say that this column is departing from all Metro papers across Canada as of today. When I heard the news, I decided to drown my sorrows and appease my appetite at my favourite place to have lunch in Calgary, The Ship and Anchor.
For me, this pub isn’t solely about what’s on your plate (I had a Loaded Ship Burger with Fries, $9.95), it’s about the entire experience. You just can’t buy this kind of atmosphere. Whether you’re soaking up sunshine on the awesome patio, recouping with a Caesar after a late night out or just on a first date that ends badly, this place always feels like home.
I have spent many an afternoon at The Ship and I intend to spend many, many more!
