How can you not like a café called the Mindful Mango?

Located in the food court in the bustling Village at Bayers Road, one finds an array of homemade sandwiches, soups and salads.

The delectable Smoked Ham Panini ($7.75) with ginger lime mayo, roasted apple, Gouda cheese and romaine lettuce is full of flavour. It is accompanied by spinach salad with a citrus dressing.

The Sesame Chicken Wrap ($7.50) pales by comparison.  Although it has greens, sweet peppers, grilled onion and sesame mayo, it’s on the bland side.

The day’s soup special, French Canadian Pea Soup ($3.95), is made with lentils instead of peas.

It’s hot and comforting, as soup should be.

The Rhubarb Mango Crisp ($2.95) is also excellent.

Focusing on locally sourced and fair-trade ingredients, The Mindful Mango is sensitive towards diabetic and gluten-free diets.

It provides employment for people needing assistance re-entering the workforce — a good reason to return for another yummy Smoked Ham Panini.
