Bread and Sons: Follow the brown paper bags to tastiness

The people on the street carrying brown paper bags stamped with Bread & Sons were a walking advertisement for this small, busy bakery. Only half a dozen stools and a few unadorned tables means you may have to take your lunch to go.
Inside, the space is taken up by the open kitchen where bandana-clad employees were pulling out freshly-baked hot cross buns and pizza from the ovens. While I was there, the queue of customers would dwindle but soon grow again with another wave.
I filled two boxes with hot cross buns before admiring the pizza options. The ricotta gouda pizza was a generous size and the combination of ricotta and Gouda was heavenly. It was abundant with herb sprinkles that gently flavoured each bite.
In the salad, the grated beets, apple wedges and walnuts were buried amidst plentiful leaves of mache, but the vinaigrette was heavy on the oil and lacked lustre.
Fight the crowds at Bread & Sons and enjoy the pizza options and baked goods.
