Arturo’s Market is a humble little restaurant on Beechwood that offers typical Italian food. You’ll find the usual suspects: pizza, pasta and panini.
There are a couple of booths, some high-top tables and a few two-person tables. Burlap covers the windows and a chalkboard highlights favourites of the day and special drinks.
The Chicken Parmigiana sandwich came with a large bowl of chili tomato soup. The soup had a nice kick from the chili and was brimming with pasta and vegetables, including broccoli and cauliflower. It had a mellow flavour and the burst of tomato peeked through each spoonful.
I was disappointed with the Chicken Parmigiana sandwich. The bun took centre stage instead of the chicken. Even after removing the diva bun, the chicken was mild and lacked oomph. Sadly, the tomato sauce could have shone but was too sparse to make a difference.
Maybe the Italian-style sandwiches or the pizza are the real stars at Arturo’s Market.
